Vertical barrier walls backfilled with soil, bentonite, and/or cement are used to control lateral migration of contamination plumes in geoenvironmental applications. The system consists of a High Density Polyethylene HDPE screen, built with panels which are locked together assuring a complete waterproofing joint between them.
For this specific system Atarfil has the product ATARSEAL SYSTEM. It is always a mixed element. The main containment barrier is created using geomembrane panels that are joined together using Atarseal profiles as part of conventional cut-off wall excavations filled with standard bentonite materials, bentonite-cement or bentonite-soil-cement to provide lateral stability to the system.
In addition to confinement, barriers can also be used to divert flows preventing water filtration through slopes in an excavation and reducing potential filtration through the bottom to acceptable limits.
ATARFIL HD is a geomembrane manufactured from verified top-quality high-density polyethylene (HDPE) resins to meet the most stringent usage requirements. Durability ...
