{"id":2504,"date":"2023-11-29T16:29:45","date_gmt":"2023-11-29T15:29:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.atarfil.com\/caso-de-estudio\/aguas-tenidas-mine-spain\/"},"modified":"2025-09-09T10:16:05","modified_gmt":"2025-09-09T08:16:05","slug":"aguas-tenidas-mine-spain","status":"publish","type":"case","link":"https:\/\/www.atarfil.com\/en\/caso-de-estudio\/aguas-tenidas-mine-spain\/","title":{"rendered":"Aguas Te\u00f1idas Mine, Spain"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The final product obtained from these mines is copper, zinc, and lead concentrate, which is sold from the ports of Huelva and Algeciras.<\/p>\n\n<p>For the start of operations at the Sotiel mine, in 2014, the capacity of the Aguas Te\u00f1idas mine processing plant was expanded from 2.2 Mt to 4.6 Mt per year. This necessitated an increase in the tailings deposit capacity, as well as the storage and treatment capacity of its water treatment plant. This resulted in the need to waterproof this extension of the tailings deposit and the creation of three water regulation and management ponds.  <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Solution<\/h2>\n\n<p>Atarfil HD 1.50 mm geomembrane was chosen for this waterproofing need, which required a membrane with very high chemical resistance, a long service life and superior mechanical properties. Both for the waterproofing system of the dry slurry tank and for the creation of the three new water regulation and management basins.
