GEOSYNTHETIC VIRTUAL CONFERENCE 2021

ATARFIL will be present at the Geosynthetics Virtual Conference 2021, which takes place from 22 to 25 February.

Technical paper

Our technical team has prepared a Technical paper: New Geomembranes for Challenging Containment Applications - Formulations for Site Specific Chemistry and Environmental Conditions.

Abstract

A traditional approach to HDPE Geomembrane design assumes that the liner is essentially impermeable, and that an action leakage rate is driven by holes created by site factors like installation or aggregate placement. This assumption is correct for projects where the leachate in contact is relatively inert, but now Geomembranes are being used in applications where the site chemistry and conditions will challenge traditional HDPE formulations. This requires an understanding of diffusion potential, often analysed with site specific temperature and other environmental constraints. This paper describes key projects in mining, where site specific formulations have been tested and manufactured, to ensure that diffusion properties of the barrier are understood long term for the specific site, and that the traditional design model can still be maintained.

Roundtable Discussion

We have organised a roundtable discussion: ”Custom Designed Geomembranes for Site Specific Conditions”. It is taking place: on Wed. Feb. 24th at 12:50 to 1:50 pm (CST)).

Atarfil will be presenting its new EVO product range. These HDPE geomembranes provide unrivaled properties for long-term performance in critical sites, exceeding the most demanding best-practice environmental guidelines.

If you need more information our sales team will be pleased to assist you at our booth #79.
